omg, i just finished 8th grade... and i thought that i finished with my best friend. God this is a long story but it's 12 oclock and i havent fucking fallen asleep yet so im BORED.
well we met at the beginning of 6th grade, id moved there from SC and i needed someone to show me the ropes. Maya was sweet and friendly and a little wild and weird but i loved that about her. anywho... we quickly became BFFs. we were BFFs until midsemester of 7th grade. We had a SMALL fight over this guy named Matt. He was hot and he had freckles and shiny eyes. i LOVED him... but so did she. We were in the same class 2gether and we hung out a lot. Maya noticed first that we both liked the same guy and she told me that she would leave him alone so that i could try to... you know... see if we actually liked each other. Anyway, we grew even closer without Maya and she was very nice about it. Well... one day around May, he said that he was moving to some state that started with an M, (i blanked out when he said he was moving.) I thought he was screwing with me... but then he gave me his number and i didn't see him for the rest of the year. Around like midsummer break, Maya calls me and tells me that Matt wants to hang out with her. I didn't care at first, but then Maya said that he'd specifically asked to hang out with me. YIPPEE!!! So i spent the whole day getting ready and stuff. We invited our friend Roubi too, who i didn't know very well. So we got to Stonecrest (the best mall in all of creation) and Matt wasn't there yet so i ordered the hugest ice cream known to mankind. As soon as it started melting down my chin he showed up (and he looked quite dazzling might i add) so i had to slurp it up and pretend that it hadn't happened. We walked around, window shopping and actually buying a few things. Then we got to JC Penney and if you've been to JC Penney you've probably seen all the curtain displays and they're like freakin mazes. Roubi randomely ran into the damn things and i ran into there with her. Silly me, i assumed that Maya and Matt would run behind me. I don't think they even tried to catch up with us.
So Roubi and i were lost and Maya and Matt were lost. I REALLY needed some coffee because that's like a martini for me, coffee and chocolate milk helps me to solve problems. Yes... i am addicted. anyway, we're looking outside of the coffee place and they pass by and she's like draped all over him and just laughing it up. Well... that's how i saw it. in hind-sight, she was touching him a lot and chuckling lightly... so we didn't run to catch up with them, roubi agreed with me that we could kind of stalk them. she was really into it too. So we followed them a little and then i think we ran into each other in the food court. So roubi understood completly that i worried whether maya was keeping her word or not, and she helped me to find out. We started calling them 'the eagles' and that was their little codename like you know... 'the eagles are way too close.' we kind of stuck together more than as a group. i wasn't interested in Matt anymore because he'd changed too much but Maya sure as hell wasn't going to have him. so we made sure that they were never alone or anything and they didn't enjoy a single minute of it. So Roubi and i spent the night at maya's (months later maya told me how angry she was that we were whispering about her through the whole night.) i remember once she mentioned how much fun she had with Matt and i THREW UP. i made it to the bathroom and i tried to pretend thta i REALLY had to pee. roubi knew better though. so that's the end of this chapter but that's only cuz it's 1:33 and i'm TIRED AS HELL.
